Advocacy and press : current files.

Here are some of the top priority files that are being examined by the FLCPF.

  • The FLCPF tries to achieve getting a better access to reliable and cheap contraceptives (federal level). The federation thus participates in the organisation and promotion of Minister Demotte’s policy which aims to reduce the price of the contraceptives for the under 21 year olds. Should you need more information visit the contraception campaign’s official site : http://www.laura .be
  • The FLCPF tries to make the ‘awakening/education to affective and sexual life activities’ (EVAS in the French) accessible for everyone on the base of pilot projects launched by former Minister Nicole Marechal. The projects aim to make the activities become common in schools. This point is being discussed with the current Minister Catherine Fonk. The FLCPF also tries to make other ministers become more sensitive to the topic.
  • The federation tries to obtain a structural refinancing for the family planning centres in Brussels. Indeed, the family planning is the only branch of the paramedical sector not to have benefited from a refinancing for more than 10 years.
  • The FLCPF wants the family planning centres in Wallony to be authorised to distribute all the contraceptives, including the morning-after pill for free. A measure put forward by Minister Christiane Vienne : the first contraceptive shall be free in order to make it easier for the poeple to take the initiative. The federation supports the initiative of former Minister Detienne which seeks a better access to the morning-after pill.
  • The federation is negociating a re-appraisal of several implementing laws ensueing from the decree about the family planning centres in Wallony. ( of the mortage loans, revalorization for the function of coordinator, recognition of the activities as working hours, revision of the activity reports framework...)
  • Continuation of the evaluation process within the meetings of the paramedical sector of Brussels.
