Advocacy and press : distribution of the affiliated family planning centres
Remark : the family planning structure only remains in the French-speaking part of Belgium.
There are now 96 recognized family planning centres in the French-speaking part of Belgium, 29 of which practice abortion.
In order to be recognized, a centre has to fulfill several working conditions defined in a decree.{link} The family planning centres are financed by the region.
Wach out : some centres have chosen to call themselves “family planning centres” but they are not recognized by the authorities i.e. they do not fulfill the conditions of the decree as far as the activity and the role of the centres are concerned. For example, some of them are clearly against abortion.

In wallony, the centres are classified in seven cathegories according to their size which varries according to the level of activity and, if we take the size of our centres into account, we represent 43% of the global activity of the sector. The rest of the activity rests on the 48 remaining centres which are represented by the three other federations.
